Bear Creek Valley Rotary Projects 2006/2007
BLUE HERON PARK PROJECT in Phoenix, Oregon is an on-going project to be completed in phases over several years. Last year we built a picnic shelter. This spring we have gathered materials so the wood and metal shops at Phoenix High School can build picnic tables for the park. Soon our members will be installing irrigation pipes and landscaping at the entrance to the park.
For six years we have partnered with Project Amigo in Colima, Mexico to put on a week-long Vision Clinic for the poor in that area. AMIGO VISION works with the Lions Club to provide over 1,000 glasses each time we visit. Nearly one-third of our membership has participated in this project.
DICTIONARY PROJECT--Our club has joined the other clubs in the Rogue Valley to distribute dictionaries to every third grader in the area -- private and public schools. This is designed to be an on-going joint project each October.
